From Mud Huts to Cathedrals

“For we are not bold to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves; but when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:12‬ ‭NASB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

If we are not comparing ourselves to Jesus, and Him alone, we can easily get into one-upmanship. There is nothing more humbling than using the only Man without sin as our yardstick. We may be giants in our own estimation, but without God, we are worms.

Neuroscientists tell us we vastly underutilize our brains. It was for God’s purpose that our capacious brains were designed. Without communion with God, most humans underutilize their brains and could do as well with brains the size of a lemur’s. A capacious brain without God is empty space waiting to be occupied by demons.

When the mind of God enters us, the human mind needs to be transformed from a mud hut into a cathedral. Jesus will gladly enter a mud hut but He wants us to build Him a Cathedral.
